These terms govern your use of the QuoteCat app ("the App").
Provider. QuoteCat is provided by Severin Scheidegger, Switzerland. Contact: hello@quotecat.ch.
Use of the App. You use the App at your own risk. The App is provided "as is."
Your content. Content you create or import in QuoteCat belongs to you or its respective rights holders. You are responsible for storing and sharing only content you are legally permitted to use.
Shared folders. An invitation can be used once to connect exactly two devices. After that, each person can send their own local folder and receives the other person's folder as read-only. Share invitation links only with the intended person. Sharing is a synchronization feature, not a permanent backup service: successfully delivered packets are deleted after acknowledgement, unacknowledged packets expire after no more than seven days, and later delivery is best effort only. Connections can be ended in the App. Legacy shares in the previous snapshot format may continue to expire after 90 days during migration.
Third-party content. The optional online quote library retrieves content from ZenQuotes. Rights, availability, and accuracy of third-party content are governed by the relevant provider's terms.
Availability and discontinuation. We do not guarantee that the App or any feature will remain available indefinitely. We may change, restrict, or discontinue features and may stop developing, supporting, or operating the App at any time. Where reasonably possible in the circumstances, we will give advance notice. You are not entitled to future updates, particular features, or permanent availability. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.
Warranty and liability. The App is provided “as is” and is used at your own risk. It is not a permanent backup service. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude warranties and liability for direct and indirect loss or damage, including loss of data, loss of benefit, and outages or changes to the App or external services. Liability for intent, gross negligence, and any other claims that cannot legally be excluded remains unaffected.
In-app purchases and refunds. The App offers optional purchases (e.g. premium unlock). These are processed by Apple or Google. Refunds are subject to the respective policies of Apple or Google and must be requested directly from them.
Intellectual property. The design, code, and branding of the App are our property. Rights in third-party content remain unaffected.
Governing law. Swiss law applies. The place of jurisdiction is Switzerland unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
